[Day 2] Experimental shot - Hallway section

Day 2: Hallway Section

Challenges

• Lack of time 
• Have to do the experiments silently

The initial plan for the experiment for shots at school was the after-school period. However, since Jennie is not free after school, I have decided to do some experiments during the 2 media periods that I have on Tuesday morning. Therefore, I have a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes to do any last experiment before the filming day on Wednesday the next day. Moreover, since the experiment is during school hours we need to be out in the hallway to shoot, and we have to be very quiet, ensuring that we are not affecting any classes studying. Mary was with me at first when we were experimenting so she actually acted according to her character Joselyn. I also asked her to be my actor for a few other shots and replaced Jennie's place. Unexpectedly, Jennie had a free period during that time so she passed by to help me with the experiment while Mary left for her work. In the end, I can do some really helpful experiment shots, which help me speed up the process for the official filming day.  

Lessons learned

• Always experiment with the shots first before the actual shot. Turning the storyboard into life takes work. Sometimes, it would not turn out the way we intend it to, and that’s completely normal. We just have to improvise and find what works; experimental shots help with that.
• Over-preparing is always better!

Behind the Scenes

There was actually no behind the scene footage for the experiment shot in the hallway section because we actually forgot to film it 🥲 And because I used my iPad to look at the storyboard (since we are not allowed to use the phone in school), therefore no footage of the behind the scenes are captured. 😭
