Continuity
What I have tried to do
- Assembled all the shots together into one sequence.
- Successfully kept it under 2 minutes.
What needs to be improved
- 0:20 - 0:22
- The footsteps don't seem to match 100% so it needs adjustments
- 0:28
- The flow of the previous scene to this scene doesn't flow smoothly since their is a slight pause before the action so the 2nd clip could be cut down
- 0:46 - 0:48
- The duration of the footage needs to be adjusted to bring in more tension, could either be longer or slower
- 0:49
- The duration of the clip is a bit too long so it doesn't match the upcoming action of waking up
- 0:50 - 0:51
- The action of breathing hard and looking up at the door doesn't match so adjustment in duration is needed
- 0:51
- The panning motion to the door seems rushed so could adjust the speed to make it slower
- 0:55 - 0:57
- The footage is a bit too long and the letter doesn't stand out so might need to consider adjusting the duration and zoom in to focus the letter
- 1:01 - 1:02
- Could adjust the speed or duration so that the footage lasts longer to emphasize the meaning of the scene and raise tension
- 1:03 - 1:05
- Consider adjusting the speed for the panning action to be faster and cutting down the beginning of the footage to have the time for the addition of duration from other scenes
- 1:28 - 1:29
- Adjusting the speed of the footage or zooming in for the audience to read the text message easier
- 1:50 - 1:53
- Zooming action is too quick so could adjust the speed of the footage to slow it down and emphasize the character's emotion as well as to raise the tension for the ending of the 2-minute film opening sequence
What I will do next
- Continuity
- Improve the continuity of the shots according to the above section
- Sound design
- Add atmospheric sound (rain, thunderstorms, ambient white sound, ...)
- Add in detail diegetic sound (blood splashing, screams, footsteps, doorbell, breaking news, ...)
- Ensure that all sound flows smoothly without cuts in between
